We have also been in talks/met with some photographers and I think we will finalize that soon, along with a videographer, and a DJ.
One of the first things I wanted to do once we signed our venue contract was "formally" ask my sister, cousins, and best friends to be in my bridal party.
I found these cute mini-frames and cards in the dollar bin at Michael's and placed a picture of me with each bridesmaid-to-be in the frames.
The frames were mailed out along with a handwritten poem in the note cards. The poems were unique to each person, and covered the beginnings of each friendship/relationship and ended with me popping the question "Will you be my bridesmaid?".
I am all-too-corny and sentimental and these poems were verses long. But I'm so glad I did it; everyone appreciated theirs and I enjoyed writing the sonnets for my Maid of Honor, and bridesmaids (and bridesMAN, my best friend Joe!)
What do you think about "formally" asking friends to be in your bridal party? How did you or how do you want to ask your bridesmaids?

O.M.G. I LOVE this idea! I'm getting married next year and have my engagement party in a few weeks. I've been trying to think of something cute to give my bridesmaids. Are you tying the knot in South Jersey? Congrats again!
ReplyDeleteThank you! And congrats to you! I am getting married in Monmouth County... What about you?
DeleteEverything for me is happening in Bergen. North Jersey Bride / South Jersey Bride. Now I'm thinking about putting this into a blog series. I have a problem!
